ASBA - National Social Housing Association initiated the second Social Housing Conference in Armenia titled “Social and Affordable Housing in Armenia: Opportunities and Challenges”, which took place on February 26, 2013 in Congress Hotel Yerevan.

The Conference approached key issues related to the development of social and affordable housing in the country. The results of Matra social housing project were presented and discussed in light of the current experience and developments in the social and affordable housing sector of Armenia. Prominent experts from Armenia and Netherlands discussed current trends of development as well as ways of progress of social affordable housing in Europe and Armenia. The Conference approached also issues related to the legislative field for social housing development and public-private partnership.

ASBA Foundation was founded in 2010 as a result of Armenian-Dutch partnership. The aim of ASBA Foundation is to promote sustainable housing for low and middle income families in Armenia. The social housing project in Armenia is financially supported by the Social Transformation Program (MATRA) of the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
